The inaugural edition of the Prince Albert Youth Meet and Greet will be coming up on July 20 between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Kinsmen Park.

This event is put together by the Prince Albert Multicultural Council (PAMC). Entry into the event is free.

“It is to get more people involved in the community, especially the youth because they are very important to the community,” said Melanie Carcillar of PAMC, one of the event coordinators. “It’s also multicultural, so everybody can just come casually and meet new faces and learning some things with other people.”

Carcillar said the event will provide a fun and safe environment for recreational activities, while allowing youth to connect with organizations and mentors for personal and professional development.

The three-hour event will be organized by the seven member PAMC Youth Council. It will feature multicultural games, snacks, and an invited youth speaker.

“It’s just very casual,” Carcillar said.

The event is one of several created after the PAMC launched their Youth Ambassador Program in May 2023 and started a Multicultural Youth Council. The Youth Ambassadors have worked on individual projects in Prince Albert, but Carcillar said this will be the first major project for the Youth Council.
