WO2 Jannie Kemp of 38 Prince Albert  joined other Advanced Aviation Staff Cadets who got the rare experience of talking to members of the Italian aerobatic display team Frecce Tricolori on July 16th 2024. The Italians gave a presentation discussing the aircraft they fly and the particulars of their performances.

Kemp joined other cadets at the Cold Lake Cadet Training Center for on-the-job training, otherwise known as staff cadet, in the Training Department where he assists and teaches course cadets while they’re at the CTC. “I’ve really enjoyed working with the cadets during their training,” said Kemp, “but what I really appreciated doing this summer is being able to experience the Cold Lake air show with both my cadets and with my family.”

Kemp joined 38 Prince Albert five years ago because of his desire to participate in and complete the power pilot training course. In the future, Kemp would like to pursue education in electrical engineering and join the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Cadet Program is open to all youth between the ages of 12-19 years of age and provides youth opportunities to develop skills that will last a lifetime including teamwork and communication. Youth who are interested in joining the Cadet Program, can do so by visiting the Join the Cadet Program page at Canada.ca or by emailing 38 Prince Albert at 38air@cadets.gc.ca

Adults are needed to help train, administer, and supervise the local youth involved in the Canadian Cadet Program. Becoming part of the Canadian Cadet Organization is easier than you may think, it is a lot of fun, and the skills you learn are likely transferable to your regular employment. No previous military or cadet experience is required.
