Police investigating suspicious death in Sturgeon Lake

On July 14th at approximately 10:00 am, police and EMS were called to a residence in Sturgeon Lake First Nations and declared a male deceased upon arrival. Prince Albert RCMP is now calling it a suspicious death.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit South is conducting an investigation with the help of Prince Albert and Tisdale Forensic Identification Section and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service into the death, according to a press release.

It is believed that there is no threat to public safety, but residents of the Sturgeon Lake First Nations will notice an increased police presence throughout the area.

The family of the deceased has been notified and an autopsy is scheduled for July 18th in Saskatoon.

The investigation is ongoing.
