Police investigating fatal collision

The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian that left a 36-year-old man dead.

The collision occurred on Oct. 22 just before 8 p.m. in the southbound lane of Highway 2 South just south of Marquis Road, near Peavy Mart.

The victim was identified as George Alfred Ray. Collision reconstruction and forensic identification officers examined the scene for evidence.

Police seized a suspect vehicle at a nearby private residence a short time later. A suspect was arrested, questioned by police and released without charge. Police continue to investigate with assistance from the Chief Coroner’s Office.
