Health officials reported 68 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, along with 119 recoveries and three more deaths.

One of those deaths occurred in the North Central Zone. A patient in their 60s passed away after testing positive for the virus. The province did not release any other details about the case.

The other two deaths occurred in the North West Zone. One patient was in their 70s. The other was in the 19 and under age category. The province did not release any other details about those cases. A total of 549 Saskatchewan residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

Healthcare workers administered 8,628 new vaccine doses, including 628 in North Central, and 190 in the three far north regions. Roughly 67 per cent of Saskatchewan adults have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

More than 138,000 Saskatchewan residents are fully vaccinated, including 10,568 in North Central.

The North Central Zone reported nine new cases and 11 more recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in the region to 104. That’s the lowest total since Apr. 23, when the zone had 96 active cases.

Prince Albert reported seven of the zone’s nine new cases, while Zone 1 reported the other two. There are now 58 active cases in Prince Albert, 30 in Zone 1, and 16 in Zone 3.

The Far North East reported two new cases on Monday. Those were the only new cases in the far north. There are now 36 active cases in the Far North East, 43 in the Far North West, and none in Far North Central.

The North East Zone, which includes Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale, reported one new case and two more recoveries. There are now 32 active cases in the area.

As of Monday, Saskatchewan has 1,142 active cases. That’s the province’s lowest total since Nov. 8, 2020, when 1,122 cases were active.

The Saskatoon Zone has the highest number of active cases with 315, followed by Regina with 170, the North West with 126, and South Central with 124.

The Far North Central Zone has the lowest active cases total with zero, followed by Central West with 14, and the North East and South West zones with 32 each.

A total of 102 people are in hospital with COVID-19, including 19 in intensive care. One of those ICU patients is in North Central.
