The Prince Albert #16 chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) established a scholarship fund for Saskatchewan Rivers School Division graduates with a preference given to those who have a family connection to an Eastern Star member.
The Ronald Tebbertman Memorial Scholarship was established last year, and this year we had the first recipient.
The $500 scholarship was given to Brooke Howat, a graduate of Canwood Public School, she has received her degree in Soil Science, and is now working on her Masters.
We had a dinner in her honour on Saturday evening. Her parents, grandparents, and extended family were in attendance, along with many members of the PA Chapter 16 OES members and the Kinistino Lodge #1 members of the Masons.
We were also excited to receive as guests the Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron of the provincial chapter of Eastern Star who brought greetings from the Saskatchewan Chapter and personal congratulations to Ms Howat on her scholarship.
