RCMP are investigating two ATM thefts in rural Saskatchewan.

Early last Thursday, police responded to a financial institution in Choiceland, where they found extensive damage on the outside of the building and an abandoned vehicle.

The initial investigation found the vehicle was stolen from a nearby business.

The suspect rammed it into the side of the building, appearing to damage or steal the ATM in the lobby.

Surveillance footage then shows a man entering.

He was wearing a light-coloured sweater with a logo on the left side of the chest, dark pants and gloves. He had his hood up and his face half covered.

He attempted to damage the ATM, but then ran out without appearing to take anything.

A couple days later on early Sunday morning, a similar theft occurred in White Fox.

Police found another financial institution there damaged with a stolen ATM.

Surveillance cameras caught a white Dodge truck backing up into the building’s lobby before securing the ATM to the truck and leaving.

Police said the truck was stolen from a dealership in Nipawin and has the Saskatchewan license plate 819 KXE; it has not been located.

The suspect was wearing clothing described the same as the one in Choiceland.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Nipawin RCMP at 306-862-6270 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
