One person was sent to hospital after a “suspicious fire” in the West Flat Monday.

Fire crews responded to a blaze on the 800 Block of 18 Street West at 4:51 a.m. Monday. They found a home at least partially engulfed in flames.

The fire department reported that a neighbour managed to remove someone from the home just prior to their arrival. Paramedics transported the person to hospital for “further assistance and treatment.”

Firefighters forced entry into the home and put out the fire. They didn’t find anyone else inside.

The fire department considers the blaze “suspicious in nature.” Fire inspectors will be investigating in conjunction with the Prince Albert Police Service.
