Mintos training camp this weekend

The Prince Albert Mintos will return to the ice this weekend as they start their 2019-20 Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League campaign with their fall camp at the Art Hauser Centre.

Scrimmages will be taking place at 11:15 a.m., 3:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Saturday, with two more scrimmages set for 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

The Mintos will then begin a six-game exhibition slate on Saturday, Sept. 7 as they will go on the road to take on the Battlefords Stars.

After visiting the Beardy’s Blackhawks on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Mintos will play at home on Thursday, Sept. 12 against the Stars.

They will then visit the Saskatoon Blazers on Saturday, Sept. 14 before hosting the Blackhawks on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and the Blazers on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

All three pre-season home games will get underway at 7 p.m.

The Mintos will open up their regular season campaign with a pair of contests at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Stars will come to town on Saturday, Sept. 21, with the Swift Current Legionnaires paying a visit on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Both matchups will get underway at 1:30 p.m.

The following weekend will see the Mintos travel to Warman for the annual SMAAAHL showcase.

They will face the Blazers in a rematch of last year’s quarter-final series at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 and will also take on the Notre Dame Argos on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.

Their first meeting with the two-time defending league champion Notre Dame Hounds will be held in Wilcox on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The team will also play a neutral site in Shellbrook on Saturday, Jan. 18 when they’ll face the Saskatoon Contacts.

The Mintos’ 2019-20 regular season slate will conclude on the road on Sunday, Feb. 23 against the Yorkton Maulers.
