Melfort advances to Hoopla final with big win

The Moose Jaw Central Cyclones proved to not be much of a roadblock as the Melfort Comets cruised to a big victory in their quest to defend their 4A girls Hoopla crown.

Melfort led from the first whistle to the final buzzer, going up 45-15 at one point.

They led 29-10 after the first quarter, 46-17 at the half, and finished with a final score of 63-45

Rachel Linnell and Alexa Hangs-Copeland were the top scorers for Melfort with 15 points each. Alexa Watterson was Central’s top scorer with 14 points.

Melfort will face off against Estevan in the 4A girls final Saturday, 7 p.m. at St. Mary.
