Crews from the Lakeland and District Fire Department spent several hours on scene extinguishing a grass and bush fire roughly 12 km west of Christopher Lake.

Firefighters arrived on scene shortly at around 12:52 p.m. on Saturday, where they discovered a fire roughly 10 acres in size. The fire eventually grew to 25 acres before it was extinguished.

Fire crews contained the blaze within one hour, but spent several hours on scene doing mop-up duty, according to a department Facebook post. Wildlife Management also provided support from the air.
