Boreal Healthcare Foundation among groups to receive Saskatchewan Blue Cross donations

The Saskatchewan Blue Cross has donated $34,100 in funding for essential healthcare equipment to support rural hospitals across Saskatchewan.
The organizations to receive funding includes the Boreal Healthcare Foundation in Prince Albert, which received $7,000 for a patient lifting tool.
“This lift will aid patients who cannot toilet and bathe themselves by helping them reach the necessary facilities safely and comfortably,” said Mickey MacGillivray, Philanthropy Advisor at Boreal Healthcare Foundation.
Other recipients include the Biggar and District Health Services Foundation Inc., which received $5,000 for an emergency pediatric crash cart, the Alex Ositis Foundation Inc., which received $4,995 for an Alaris PK Syringe Pump, the Grenfell District Health Foundation, which received $6,000 for a new microscope, the Moose Jaw Healthcare Foundation, which received $9,500 for a paediatric bed, and the North Central Healthcare Foundation, which received $1,600 for two wheelchairs.
“Supporting rural hospitals in our province is crucial to improving the overall health and well-being of the people of Saskatchewan,” said Kelly Wilson, President and CEO of Saskatchewan Blue Cross.
Rural hospitals are invited annually to submit applications for health initiatives, including small projects and equipment purchases, as part of Saskatchewan Blue Cross’ Community Investment Program.
“These essential pieces of healthcare equipment allow doctors, nurses and hospital staff to continue to provide exceptional care to residents in their communities.” said Wilson.
Saskatchewan Blue Cross prioritizes creating partnerships with organizations province-wide to encourage the health and wellbeing of Saskatchewan people.
