P.A.’s Studio 1010 art group brings diverse show to Grace Campbell Gallery

The John M. Cuelenaere Public Library was a little noisier than usual on Thursday morning a members from the local Studio 1010 artists’ group gathered in the Grace Campbell Gallery, hammers in hand, to hang their latest exhibition.

The Studio 1010 Art Show and Sale will occupy the space from March 31 to April 25, with an opening reception to be held on Saturday, April 1. The show has no central, unifying theme other than the fact that the works are all done by Studio 1010 members.

This is the first Studio 1010 show for Jerome Mrazek, who only joined the group this year. He previously had his work shown at the Prince Albert Winter Festival Art Show and Sale, but the two pieces he submitted to the Studio 1010 exhibit are being shown for the first time.

“I wanted to get more involved in the art community because I haven’t being doing this all that long so I wanted to be able to learn and have a group of people that I could get involved with,” Mrazek said.

“I started with a couple of classes a few years ago, landscape classes and acrylics and charcoal and drawing. I’ve pretty much been experimenting with different media just to see what really piques my interest.”
