Firstly, thank you to the Daily Herald for providing the opportunity for my mother, Ann, and me to attend the Rawlinson Centre performance of Mary Liv. It was a small, intimate affair right on stage with the band which was a perfect venue for my mother.
Ann has lived at Mak Lodge, a private care home in PA, for just over two years. Mom will be turning 90 on January 6 and had never been to the Rawlinson previous to last night’s performance. Having played the accordion in a band in her teenage years in the Crystal Springs area, plus being a regular dancer until a couple of years ago when her partner passed away, the music last night couldn’t have been better. You can’t even imagine how much she enjoyed herself! We even ran into a group of people from Holbein that we knew and they invited us to sit with them, so it made the occasion even more special. When I was driving back to the lodge, mom said she had such a good time and has no idea why she never made the effort to go to the Rawlinson centre in the last 20 years! Hopefully, I will be able to find more events there that mom would like to attend in the future.
Thanks again for making last night a very special evening for us.
