Strong third period lifts White past Green in Raider Green-White Game

Nathan Reiter/Daily Herald. Ben Harvey leads the fly-by after scoring a goal for Team White during the Raider Green-White game on Monday afternoon.

The 2024-25 edition of Prince Albert Raiders training camp has come to a close.

After camp began on Friday, the Raiders concluded camp with the annual Green vs White game on Monday afternoon which saw White defeat Green by an 8-4 score.

Raider head coach Jeff Truitt says he was pleased with what he saw from both the prospects and returning roster players who played in the game.

“I like the pace, I like the energy, there was compete out there and you can tell that there are guys that want to take the next step and that’s what this is all about. You go through some of these games and a lot of the roster guys were out but we wanted to inject some older guys in this game just to create that speed and that intensity. I think the younger kids really did a great job and to get them up to the pace that we need. I was real happy with everybody, obviously our older guys stepped up a little bit and that’s great to see that’s what it should be they should be able to dominate at this game. It’s a great thing but I was really impressed by a lot of guys.”

It didn’t take long for the scoring to open as Brayden Dube would strike for Green just 0:56 into the opening frame with an unassisted tally.

White responded at the 18:54 mark as 2024 fourth overall pick Ben Harvey would find the back of the net to knot the score after twenty minutes. Kyle Obobaifo and Daxon Rudolph assisted on the play.

Shots favored Green 14-9 after one period of play.

Just as fans were settling back into their seats for the second period, Riley Boychuk would find the back of the net for White to give them their first lead of the hockey game just 0:23 in. Ben Harvey and Brock Cripps picked up the assists.

Brayden Dube would find twine for Green at the 3:45 mark as the 19-year-old would beat Steele Bass with a highlight reel between the legs move to even up the score.

Tyler Wamboldt would give White the lead at the 9:03 mark with the assists coming from Luke Moroz and Harrison Lodewyk.

Shots were even at 20-20 after forty minutes.

In the third, Cole Peardon evened up the score at 3-3 just 0:19 into the final frame. Ty Meunier and Ryland Molde picked up the helpers.

White would capture the momentum with four consecutive goals in the third period

Luke Moroz would strike at the 2:47 mark with Riley Boychuk picking up the helper.

Daxon Rudolph would add a goal of his own less then a minute later, with Boychuk picking up a helper of his own.
