Police weekend calls include assault, theft and weapons complaint

The Prince Albert Police Service responded to 318 calls between Friday evening and Monday morning, reporting an assault, theft and weapons complaint in its weekend update.

At about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, police of routine patrol arrested a man they spotted yelling and throwing garbage at another men exiting a parking lot at 28th Street and Second Avenue West. The driver also reported that the man threw a lit cigarette at him.

Upon further investigation, police also located a knife on the suspect.

The 37-year-old’s charges include breach of a court order.

The police service is also seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect of a theft that occurred on Saturday. The release said someone stole hockey cards from a local business.

On Saturday afternoon, police responded to a complaint of a man with a gun. Officers were called to a home of the 500 block of 10th Street East and located one man who had cocaine.

He’s been charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of a court order. Police did not locate any firearms.

The majority of the police’s calls for service over the weekend involved intoxication and disturbances.
