Melfort RCMP have arrested one suspect and are searching for another following an investigation into an armed robbery on a rural property in the RM of Spalding.

Investigators say two masked men entered the residence with firearms and pointed them at the two people inside. The suspects then stole two firearms and electronic devices before leaving in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Officers later found the vehicle on Fishing Lake First Nation. They stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver at the scene.

Police also seized three firearms from inside the vehicle, include two reported stolen during the robbery. Police say the vehicle was also previously reported stolen from Humboldt.

Bohdy Bussiere, 23, of Spalding faces found charges in connection with the case. He made his first court appearance on Sept. 19.

The RCMP have also laid 10 charges against Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais, 34, of Fishing Lake First Nation. The list includes one count of armed robbery, one count of breaking and entering, and three counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited. The RCMP have issued a warrant for his arrest.

Desjarlais is also the subject of a Wadena RCMP warrant following an investigation into an armed robbery that took place in Wadena on Sept. 8.
