Man who succumbed to injuries in Victoria Hospital considered a homicide victim: police

The Prince Albert Police Service is treating the death of a 21-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries at Victoria Hospital as a homicide.

Police discovered the man with serious, life-threatening injuries after stopping a vehicle for erratic driving in the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue West just before midnight on Jan. 9. Parkland Ambulance arrived on the scene and transported the man to hospital where he died.

Further investigation led police to a residence in the 800 Block of 13th Street West. They have identified a suspect, who they believe was known to the victim. Police will remain in the area on Monday to continue the investigation.

Any residents who heard or observed anything suspicious in the 800 Block of 13th Street West at around 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 9 is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222, or Crime Stoppers .
