The Great Blue Heron Provincial Park hopes to draw a crowd to the park by putting together Harmony at the Heron on Saturday.
The event is free with a park pass, and runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Great Blue Heron Provincial Park manager Sonnet McGuire said they hope to see lots of activity.
“This event is a special event meant to encourage people to come out into the park, spend the day enjoying in the park and taking in some music and some music theme kind of activities,” she explained.
“We just want everybody to come out and enjoy the day (and) enjoy all the activities—whichever activity speaks to them and then definitely join us of the concert because it’s going to be a really great show with some excellent local talent.”
Previous years has had an outdoor movie then an outdoor summer concert. This year’s event will begin at 11 a.m. with Inner Harmony Yoga at the main beach. At 1 p.m., there will be kalimba craft and kalimba music lesson, then two step lessons at 4 p.m.
McGuire said they are excited to have concerts back in the park.
“At 7 p.m. we have an opening act and the artist is Brett Down, then Taya Lebel and the band will perform,” McGuire said. “At the same time Ferns Foods from Emma Lake will have their famous Pizza and snacks for purchase right on sight.
“Anyone that wants to come should bring a blanket or a chair, because it is and outdoor concert and if the weather looks a little iffy you may want to bring an Umbrella as well. There is no charge to attend the concert but you need to purchase an a vehicle entry permit which can be purchased online or on site.”
McGuire said everybody should come out and enjoy themselves, enjoy the day and the activities with some local talents.
McGuire said there are still campsites available for anyone who wants to do some last minute camping at Murray Point campground. Any further info should go to parks.saskatchewan.ca
