The Town of La Ronge hosted A Sandcastle Building Competition in Patterson Park on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Kids of all ages took the opportunity to play in the sand, adding to a sandcastle already started or building their own.

There was much creativity at work as parent, grandparents and children joined in the fun, while others preferred to find their own spot and work on their creation.

Some folks enjoyed sitting on the beach and trying to find some shade from the hot sun while others enjoyed swimming, visiting with friends and family on a warm, sunny day.

The afternoon also included a barbeque – hot dogs. hamburgers, and drinks for all provided with the help of members of other community organizations.

By the end of the events a large crowd had gathered to enjoy the event.
