While the Prince Albert Raiders season may be over, goaltender Ian Scott is just getting started.

On Monday, the Raiders announced that Scott had left to attend the Canada National U18 team camp in Ontario.

In the past, Scott has also represented his country at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and at the World Under-17 Challenge.

Scott was among the fist six players named to Hockey Canada’s pre-tournament camp roster.

The IIHF U18 World Championship runs from April 13 to 23 in Slovakia.

The camp is an opportunity for Scott to get back into the routine of a high-performance player. Since the Raiders missed the playoffs, he’s had a few weeks to rest.

“This (camp) is about getting familiar with each other, familiar with the coaches and understanding the systems we’re going to use,” said Hockey Canada director of player personnel Ryan Jankowski.

“It’s an opportunity for him to become more comfortable, and get back into the routine of the high performance hockey he’s played all year, and then get prepared for the tournament.”
