Fest-of-Ale returning with almost twice as many vendors

A world of wine, beer and spirits is coming to the Ches Leach Lounge Saturday.

The Prince Albert Kinsmen Club is hosting their second annual Wine, Spirits Fest-of-Ale from 7-11 p.m. This year’s event features even more vendors — 22 in all — sampling over 100 different products.

“This year we’ve just about doubled our vendors,” said Kinsman Shaun Pikaluk.

“The growth seems really good. It means the vendors enjoyed their time last year and felt it worthwhile to come back.”

Word spread from vendor to vendor, which helped get more on board. Pikaluk also credited some help with the event’s growth to new event partner Lake Country Co-op, who reached out to other vendors, bringing them to the event.

Pikaluk said the community has been receptive as well.

“Ticket sales are getting up there. There has been lots of talk about the event. People seem pretty excited,” he said.

“I’m hoping that results in some more ticket sales, and we fill the room and have people and vendors enjoying their time.”

It’s that good reception from last year that inspired the Kinsmen to bring the event back, Pikaluk said.

“People who were there enjoyed themse.es. It was something different Prince Albert’ hadn’t had before. I know other centres do similar events, and it just seemed like a fun vent we wanted to try out and see how the community reacted to it. The community seemed to enjoy it, so we decided to do it again and make it bigger and better.”

As with many of the group’s fundraisers, all of the money raised will stay in the community.

“Our motto is serving the community’s greatest need,” Pikaluk said.

“From year to year, the greatest need has differed. But we always support numerous projects within the city. You don

t have to look very far to see the kinsmen name involved in some way around the community.”

Tickets for the Fest-of-Ale are $25 in advance and can be purchased at Harold’s Family Foods, and both the lake Country Co-Op food and liquor stores.

Tickets are $30 at the door. The list of vendors includes Lucky Bastard Distillers, Last Mountain Distillery, Great Western Brewing, Prince Albert Brewing Company, Forest Fringe Winery, Crossmount Cider Co. and more.
