The death of 22-year-old man found unconscious and not breathing is now being investigated as a homicide.
Darren Laviolette, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to the 1200 Block of 28th Street East before 9 a.m. on Sept. 1. An autopsy was conducted Sept. 3, leading police to announce their homicide investigation on Sept. 4.
The Prince Albert Police Service is looking to speak with anyone who was with or spoke to Laviolette between the evening of Saturday, Aug. 31, and 3 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Police have asked anyone who heard or witnessed a disturbance in the area of 28th Street East and the 2800 Block of Sherman Drive to contact investigators.
