The crown rested its case Tuesday in the trial of Orren Johnson and Jordan Herron, after calling three final witnesses who were in the vicinity of the crime scene on the night of Clayton Bear’s death.
Bradley Longjohn was working the night shift at a YWCA youth home on the early morning of April 14, 2014. He told the court that he heard several gunshots outside just after 4 a.m. He said he looked out the window and saw two people run from 596 27 Street East, the site of the murder, toward a parked car.
Longjohn said it was too dark for him to identify them.
About one hour later, Longjohn told the court, he saw two men leave the same house on foot. He said they were wearing gray bunnyhugs and baseball caps.
Another witness, Megan Pilon, said she woke up to gunshots that morning.
“Pop, pop, pop,” she recalled the sound. “I wasn’t sure I heard it because I was dreaming. I thought it was part of my dream.”
