Students at St. Francis Catholic School will be returning to classes one day later than expected.

According to a media release issued by the Prince Albert Catholic School Division, a water main break that occurred at the school Tuesday has delayed the start date for students. Classes were set to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Instead, the first day of school for St. Francis students will be Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Water has damaged the school’s gym and mechanical room. No other classrooms or educational spaces were affected.

Crews are currently working to repair the water lines. New and returning families can call 9523-7551 if they have any questions. There is no water service at the school right now and the office staff and administration team are available temporarily at École Holy Cross (2051-15 Ave. East) for inquiries or registrations.

School buses will be operating for St. Francis students on Sept. 4.

Future updates will be posted online at www.pacsd.ca.
