Veterans to visit Vimy

On Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m., a plane with 20 veterans and veterans’ wives from across Saskatchewan will take off from the Saskatoon Airport, headed to Minneapolis.

From there, the veterans will wait in an airport for nine hours before flying overseas to Paris, France.

Then, they will continue their journey, with a final destination of Vimy, France, to mark the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge.

The iconic battle was fought in WWI, and marked a major victory for the Canadian Corps.
