Winter weather headed this way

The taste of spring this part of the province has seen will give way to wind and snow over the weekend.

A winter weather warning for the Prince Albert area was issued by Environment Canada Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

According to the Weather Network, the next few days will see as much as 25 mm of rain and 10 cm of snow in the city.

The same storm could end up dumping as much as 40 cm of snow on the provincial park, the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency warned.

The precipitation could cause flooding in low-level areas, though the Water Security Agency believes the melt will be slow enough to mitigate any major flooding events.

The agency also warned that high winds could blow broken-up ice against the shore, damaging property and shoreline.
