A vigil will be held in honour of 14-year-old Peyton Flett, who was last seen on June 16-17 in Prince Albert.
The vigil is organized by her mother, Danica Moore, and Food for a Smile. It will take place on Aug. 19, her birthday.
In a police press conference on Aug. 12, police said Peyton Flett was last seen between June 16 and June 17 in 2026, in the area of Marquis Road and Central Avenue. She was last seen wearing blue Christmas pyjama pants, a dark hoodie, and a black fanny pack.
The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit sent a release on Aug. 14 stating that they had found a “deceased individual in the 300 block of 40th Street East during a search conducted as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 14-year-old Peyton Flett.”
Police have yet to confirm who the individual is and are awaiting an autopsy on Aug. 18, which will “assist in determining the identity of the deceased individual as well as cause and manner of death.” However, on Aug. 13, Moore posted on Facebook: ‘My baby was found. She’s gone.’
With hundreds of comments extending condolences, the community has gathered in order to show support for the family. Moore and Food for a Smile, will be holding a vigil to lay down purple candles, flowers, teddy bears, and a balloon release at the 300 block of 40th Street East, where she was allegedly found.
Police said this remains an active suspicious death investigation.
