The province of Saskatchewan reported two deaths related to COVID-19 on Monday.
Both deaths were reported in the North West with one in the 50 to 59 age group and one in the 70 to 79 age group.
The number of deaths in the province has grown to 341.
There were 171 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province on Monday.
The North Central zone, which includes Prince Albert, reported 10 new cases.
North Central 2, which is Prince Albert, has 84 active cases.
North Central 1, which includes communities such as Christopher Lake, Candle Lake and Meath Park, has 49 active cases and North Central 3 has 56 active cases.
There are currently 214 people in hospital overall in the province. Of the 184 reported as receiving in patient care there are 25 in North Central. Of the 30 people reported as being in intensive care there are three in North Central.
The current seven-day average is 223, or 18.2 cases per 100,000 population.
Of the 25,574 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 2,204 are considered active.
The recovered number now sits at 22,701 after 241 more recoveries were reported.
The total numbers of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 25,574 of those 6,715 cases are from the North area (2,659 North West, 3,003 North Central and 1,053 North East).
There were 509 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 42,987.
Due to extreme weather and reporting delays, the number of vaccines administered yesterday was lower than targeted. Second doses in the Far North Central region will continue on Feb. 9 to align with the first dose schedule, and has further contributed to lower administration numbers yesterday. With this, 96 per cent of the doses received have been administered to date.
There were no doses administered in the North Central zone yesterday. Other zones where vaccines were administered included Far North West and Far North East.
As well, an additional 182 doses were administered in the North West zone on Feb. 6.
This week’s Pfizer allocation of 1,950 doses is scheduled to arrive in Prince Albert on Thursday, Feb. 11.
These are the second doses required to complete the Prince Albert Phase 1 of long-term care and priority population.
There were 2,337 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Feb. 6.
As of today there have been 528,916 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.
