Turtleford RCMP charged man after weapons and illicit drugs seized

Turtleford RCMP have charged a male with more than 20 offences after seizing firearms, weapons, methamphetamine, crack cocaine and cocaine from a residence on Thunderchild First Nation.
On Mar. 4, Turtleford RCMP executed a search warrant at the residence as part of an ongoing investigation.
Officers located and seized a loaded handgun, an illegally-modified firearm, numerous firearm parts, including a loaded barrel that was capable of firing, thousands of rounds of ammunition, a butterfly knife, nun chucks, approximately 400 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 33 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 26 grams of suspected cocaine.
As a result of continued investigation, 37-year-old Spencer Wapass from Thunderchild First Nation is charged with the offences of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), trafficking (methamphetamine), possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon contrary to order and tampering with a serial number.
Spencer Wapass as already in custody; he was arrested on Mar. 2 on an outstanding warrant with the assistance from Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team.
Spencer Wapass is scheduled to next appear in St. Walburg Court on Mar. 17
