Treaty Days came a little late this year due to wildfires and evacuations.

Treaty Days were held: in Hall Lake on Monday, Sept. 8; Sucker River, Tues. Sept. 9 in the morning and Grandmother’s Bay in the afternoon; Stanley mission Wed. Sept. 10; and La Ronge on Thurs. Sept. 11 and Fri. Sept. 12.

Treaty Days involve the coming together of the various departments within the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) to provide information to members on what support and opportunities are available through the Band.

Members also may also receive Treaty dollars.

LLRIB hosts Treaty Days annually in each of the communities annually, usually in May.

Over the years they have celebrated Treaty Days with various activities that often differ from in each community.

In Hall Lake, Treaty Days was held at the Sally Ross School. Members had the opportunity to see what was happening in the various departments, usually receive a small gift and collect their treaty dollars. And a meal was served at the Cultural Centre down by the lake.
