Prince Albert Transit is operating on limited service as significant snowfall continues to impact road conditions across the city.

A Snow Route Parking Ban has been declared for Priority 1 streets and took effect at 9 a.m. Feb. 18. Drivers must immediately remove vehicles from signed snow routes. Vehicles left on designated routes may be ticketed and towed while the ban remains in effect. Snow route parking bans are declared at 9 a.m. or 4 p.m. and remain effect for 48 hours unless redeclared.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, Mayor Bill Powalinsky said transit service is currently operating on a limited basis due to the storm.

“Due to significant snowfall and resulting road conditions, Prince Albert Transit service is currently operating on a limited basis,” Powalinsky wrote.

The West Hill, East Flat, All Day and Rush Hour routes are running with modified service and reduced stops. The West Flat and East Hill routes are not in operation.

“The safety of passengers and staff is our top priority. Service will continue unless conditions worsen and it becomes unsafe to operate,” the post states.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the official City of Prince Albert Transit page for the latest updates and avoid unnecessary travel while crews continue clearing priority routes.
