Four very funny people are coming to Prince Albert next week.
The Snowed In Comedy Tour, one of the biggest comedy tours in the country, will come to Prince Albert for one night only on March 7 for a performance at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre.
The tour was started by comic Dan Quinn as an excuse to go snowboarding with some of the funniest people on the planet.
While the first leg of this year’s tour was mostly focused on ski resort towns in B.C. and Alberta, the second leg of the tour is focussing on flatter destinations, such as P.A.
“They figured they could zip around, snowboard for free, pay for the vacation and a little bit of money to buy some food and beer,” explained long-time tour member and one of this year’s performers, Paul Myrehaug.
“Now it’s grown into a monster. We’re playing 1400-seater theatres in Victoria, thousand-seaters in Nanaimo. It’s big theatres. It’s pretty impressive.”
Myrehaug and Quinn will be joined onstage in P.A. by two other Canadian comics, Pete Zedlacher and Damonde Tschritter.
All four are accomplished comedians. Quinn has won the Canadian Comedy Competition, and toured around the world. Myrehaug has also toured globally, and won the $25,0000 Great Canadian Laugh Off prize. Zedlacher is a five-time comedian of the year nominee, and won the Sirius-XM top comic competition.
Tschritter has appeared at every comedy festival in North America, and is the only Canadian in 35 years to win the Seattle International Comedy Competition, the largest of its kind in the U.S. He has shared the stage with Robin Williams, Tim Allen and Bob Sagat, and is also an accomplished screenwriter.
The star-studded cast has been bringing the laughs since January, and this year’s tour has been the biggest yet.
