FASD Awareness Day
Sept. 9 is a day to raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder. In La Ronge, the fifth Annual walk to raise Awareness around FASD will begin at the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) Band Office at 11 a.m. and proceed to the Kiskinwuhumatowin Urban Reserve for food and other activities.
September is FASD Awareness Month, a month for this nationally recognized campaign to raise awareness and do education on FASD.

Household Hazardous Waste
A Collection Event will be held in La Ronge on Sept. 11 at 424 Finlayson Street, in La Ronge between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Accepted products include Flammable liquids; Physically Hazardous (Fuel cylinders non refillable – under 5 kg);Aerosols; and Toxic liquids.

Honouring Truth and Reconciliation
The La Ronge Arts Council plans to honour Truth and Reconciliation with an exhibit of Indigenous Arts and Crafts at the Alex Robertson Public Library throughout the month of September.
Travelling Mentorship

Cultural Days 2025
Cultural Days at the Alex Robertson Public Library in La Ronge: Sept. 22 – 6 p.m. Chinese Fan Painting, with Emily Wong, Ages 13 plus; Sept. 23 4p.m. Chinese Fan Painting Ages 5-12; Sept. 25 – 6:30 p.m. – Indigenous Song and Dance with Cathy Wheaton Bird; and Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. – Tufting Workshop with Kyle Konga and registration is required for this.
Cultural Intelligence with Wilbur Sargunaraj beginning with a Cricket game, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m., author reading Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. and toddler story time on Sept. 10 at 11 a.m.
Adult Art Classes beginning with Art History series beginning with Classical Greek Pottery on Sept. 20 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. with registration required.
Other events at the Library include: Drama Club Wednesdays 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; World Art History on Fridays between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. and Land Stories on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Women’s Camp
For Peat Sake: Protecting Northern Saskatchewan Muskegs (FPS) is taking registrations for the third annual Women Protecting the Land Camp, September 19 to 21 at Missinipe, with a deadline for registration Sept. 12.
