While 2025 began quietly for the first month, much is on the horizon for the coming months.
Healing conference
An Indian Residential School Healing conferences will be held in Little Red River LLRIB Reserve, Feb. 4 and 5.
An Indian Residential School Healing conference will also be held in La Ronge. March 18, 19 and 29.
A traditional Land-Based Knowledge Keepers Gathering will be held in La Ronge Feb. 19 and 20. The Gathering will focus on the Environment and Climate Change.
The location of the La Ronge gatherings will be determined soon.
Chocolate Making for Valentines
Hosted by the Town of La Ronge, Chocolate Making, to be held in the Curling Lounge at the Mel, Sat. Feb. 8, between 1:30 and 3 p.m. People must register to participate by calling 306-425-2066 beginning Monday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. “Supplies will likely include nuts, dairy etc. Anyone attending must be 16. This is a free program.
2025 Lac La Ronge Winter Festival
The annual Winter Festival begins Friday, Feb. 28and continues till Sunday, March 9 with daily activities. Attendance to most event is free with the $5 Festive Button. Canadian Challenge
The 2025 Canadian Challenge Dog Sled Race begins Monday, Feb. 17 with Vet checks for all participating teams in La Ronge. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, through Friday, Feb. 21, teams will use Riese Park in La Ronge as a checkpoint.

Saskaloppet
The La Ronge Nordic Ski Club will host the annual Don Allen Saskaloppet beginning with the Kapesawin overnight Friday, Feb. 28. The Saskaloppet continues Saturday, March 1. Registration can be completed online at saskaloppet.ca
