La Loche to celebrate winter
La Loche plans Youth Winter Festival
The Northern Village of La Loche plans to host a Youth Winter Festival Feb. 18 through 22.
The Festival will kick off with a an Inflatables and Penny Carnival between 1-4 p.m.,
and followed by Taco in a Bag at 4:30 ;.m. on Wed. Feb. 18.
A Youth U17 Hockey Tournament is the feature activity for Thurs. 19th,
Youth games are slated 1 p.m. for Friday, Feb. 12 followed by supper at 4 p.m. and Wrestling between 5-7 p.m.
On Saturday Feb. 21 a Pancake Breakfast is planned for 10 am and a youth-only Fish Derby will be held between 1-4 p.m. with a Family Dance in the Evening between 7 -10 p.m.
The final day Sunday Feb. 22, there will be a Homemade Sled competition with hot dogs and hot chocolate between 2-4 p.m. and a Youth Prize Bingo at 6 p.m. to wrap up the festivities.

Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Races will be held between Feb 16 and Feb 19
Cross Country Ski Lessons
The La Ronge Nordic Ski Club is offering Cross Country Ski Lessons Wed. Feb. 18 and Monday March 9. On Feb 18 the lessons will feature Classic Ski lessons and Feb. 18 will be Skate Ski Lessons.
“Meet at the yellow gates at Nut Point. If you don’t have skate skies, come out for a social ski and get a few pointers on technique,” are the instructions for the events.
Valentines news
Woodland and Waterways Regional Visitors Centre has fresh baking for Valentines while it lasts in support of the La Ronge Youth Travel Group,.
Woodland and Waterways is open seven days a week with a new manager and more to see. Drop in.
The La Ronge Travel Club is also hosting a Spanish/Portuguese dinner on Saturday Feb. 28 at the Kiviak Friendship Centre. For info contact: Connie Haugen at 306-420-7572.
Family Fun in La Ronge
The Town of La Ronge plans to host a Family Fun event in the Mel Heglu Curling Lounge Friday Feb. 20 between 1 p.m.02:30 . There will be Family programming , music, Beverages and Poutines.
It’s first come-first served and children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
LLRIB W Festival pageants
Festival Queen and Baby pageant entries are being accepted. The 2026 Lac La Ronge Winter Festival begins Friday Feb. 27, features a myriad of events daily and continues, with the final day, Sunday, March 8. Eastern Sector Ice Fishing Derby
