Valerie G. Barnes Connell Jordan/Northern Advocate Kyle Olsen was at the MorningStar Faire with his homemade Jam. He’s now participated in three entrepreneurial courses through the Ballantyne Project in Vancouver to enhance his culinary and entrepreneurial skills. The Ballantyne Project is an initiative through which Indigenous youth have opportunities to explore their career interest in a very real way along with getting to explore and experience the city.

A Christmas crafter/vendor Market will be held at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre (JRMCC) Sunday, Dec. 14 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The La Ronge Medical Clinic will be open for evening clinics between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15 and Monday, Dec. 22.

Morin Lake reserve (Hall Lake) is Hosting a community Christmas Feast, which includes gifts for Elders and Children (ages 0-5) on Dec. 22. For info call 306-425-4797.

Pre-Cam Community School in La Ronge will host their Reindeer Festival on Thursday, Dec. 16 beginning at 4:45 p.m. The evening includes: Pre-K to Grade 3 concert; choir circulating the school; games and prizes, Christmas crafts; Children’s Winter Clothing Swap; a Gourmet Hot Chocolate Station and Photos with Santa.

Members of the Arts Council are busy this month with a variety of events. Storied Telling, a photo exhibition of photographic works of several Canadian artists, is in the Arts Council Gallery at the Library in La Ronge until the end of January.

Keethanow Elementary School Christmas Concert will be held Thursday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m.

The Arts Council are offering a dinner, entertainment by Travis Dolter, and an art auction; in support of the Long-Term Care facility under construction on Sat. Jan. 110 beginning at 5:30 at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre (JRMCC).

The last in the Arts Council’s concert series is a Tommy Charles concert on Saturday, April 18.
