Raiders embark on Central Division road trip; will play four games in five days

Following a busy weekend during which the Raiders came away with a point against the top team in the league, the Prince Albert Raiders are hitting the road for their first extended road trip since November.

P.A.’s first stop on their four-games-in-five-days Central Division tour will be in Cranbrook, B.C., when the Raiders (8-33-3-2) take on the Kootenay Ice (10-27-7-1) at Western Financial Place for the first time this season on Wednesday night. From there the Raiders are off to Red Deer and Edmonton before wrapping up their road trip with a Sunday matinee in Calgary.

This is the longest road trip for the Raiders since November, when the team faced off against all five B.C. Division squads in a weeklong stretch from Nov. 11 to the 18. While that particular trip didn’t turn out well for P.A. — the team lost all five games — the Raiders may fare better this week as half of the Raiders’ victories this season have come at the expense of Kootenay, Edmonton and Calgary.
