Police have charged three people in the death of La Ronge restaurateur Simon Grant.

Austin Bird, 18, and two young men aged 17 and 14 are facing second-degree murder and robbery charges. The youths cannot be named due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The three suspects were arrested without incident Friday afternoon, according to an RCMP press release. They remain in custody, and are due to appear in La Ronge provincial court Monday at 9:30 a.m.

Grant was the owner of Louisiana’s Bar-B-Que in La Ronge, where he was assaulted during an armed robbery on April 15. He later died from his injuries.
