NORTHEAST — The Saskatchewan Health Authority is expanding its online Patient Booking System to include lab appointments in Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale, the authority announced Wednesday.
Booking for Nipawin opens Jan. 21, and bookings for Melfort and Tisdale open Jan. 28, with appointments available in each community starting one week after booking opens.
The online tool allows patients to schedule appointments for blood and urine collections, electrocardiograms (ECGs) and glucose tolerance testing at participating Saskatchewan Health Authority locations. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week according to the SHA.
To book online, patients must have a valid Saskatchewan health card and provide a phone number or email address to receive appointment notifications.
People who do not see their preferred appointment type or location, or who need help, can call the Patient Booking System call centre Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at 1-833-727-5829. Walk-in appointments will continue to be offered at all SHA laboratory testing sites.
The SHA has been progressively rolling out the online booking system to more communities across Saskatchewan as it expands access to laboratory services.
