The Prince Albert Seniors Advocacy Centre and the weekly Heart of Seniors faith gathering are on the move.

Seniors Advocacy Centre executive director John Fryters confirmed the move in a phone interview Friday. He said the group was given notice to move out of its home for the past two years at Plaza 88. For now, the group is meeting at the Union Centre until its new home is ready.

Fryters said the advocacy centre has bought a building at 80 10 Street East. The older building was once Prince Albert’s first and only Jewish Synagogue, before being converted into a karate studio.

“We’re working with the city to bring it up to par,” Fryters said.

‘It has been empty for quite a while.”

Fryters said all of the seniors programs the advocacy centre offers will be moved to the new location. The plan is to be moved in and ready to go by Christmas. Plans are in place for a Christmas party in the new location.

There will also be a rededication of the building at some point in the future.
