Second arrest made in April Shellbrook robbery

The second of two men wanted in connection with an April armed robbery in Shellbrook has been arrested.

Keith Stonechild was arrested on an outstanding warrant on July 26 and was due in Prince Albert court for a first appearance on Aug. 1.

In relation to the robbery, Stonechild has been charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Robbery
  • Masked with intent
  • Carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence
  • Using a firearm while committing an indictable offence
  • Two counts of pointing a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm

Stonechild is also facing other matters before the courts.

Fellow accused Matthew Lafond was arrested in Shellbrook on June 12. He made his first appearance in provincial court at Ahtahkakoop on June 13.

The charges stem from an incident on April 27 in Shellbrook where two men entered a business on the service road armed with guns demanding cash. They fled the scene in a car with an undisclosed amount of money.
