The nominees for the 2017 Samuel McLeod Business Awards were unveiled Thursday.
The announcement was made at the annual Legacy Award Brunch, where, this year, Ron and Shelley Horn received the prestigious honour.
“There’s a long tradition of us recognizing outstanding contributions to our community, from the business community in P.A.,” said Chamber of Commerce CEO Larry Fladager.
“We’re so pleased to be able to honour them in this way. The Horn family is very deserving of the award. They’ve been in business for a number of years in the community and great, great community sponsors.”
For the nominees of the Samuel McLeod awards named Thursday, it’s a few weeks of waiting to find out who the winners will be.
The award banquet is set for April 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Ches Leach Lounge. Tickets are about half sold and registration closes at noon on April 25.
“(Today) is a very big day for some of our nominees,” Fladager said Thursday.
“To make the finalist list is a great honour. We love to see them all at the business awards, and we’re going to pick a very deserving winner to recognize appropriately for all the work they do.”
