The Saskatchewan RCMP arrested a 20-year-old Sturgeon Lake man and seized multiple items, including a sawed-off shotgun, after searching a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert WEST, Prince Albert Detachment, Police Dog Services and Critical Incident Response Team attended the residence on Nov. 12 as part of an ongoing investigation.

Two individuals left the residence and were arrested without incident. Officers searched the residence and found rifle ammunition, a magazine, and body armour, in addition to the sawed-off shotgun.

Thoren Daniels, 20, now faces 11 charges, including six counts of possession firearms/ammunition contrary to a court order. The RCMP also arrested Daniels on a warrant for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.

Daniels made his first court appearance on Nov. 14 in Prince Albert. The investigation is still ongoing.
