The RCMP are searching for a 24-year-old Big River First Nation man wanted on seven charges, including one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.
The charges stem from an altercation on Big River First Nation the evening of 6:15 p.m. RCMP officers were called to the scene at around 6:15 following reports of a gunshot. They arrived to find two individuals assisting a woman who had been shot at by a man who later fled the scene.
Police say the man and woman were involved in an altercation where the man pointed a gun at her, and later fired it. She did not report any physical injuries to police.
The RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team and Police Dog Services searched for the man, with help from a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, but could not find him.
A warrant has been issued for Kennatch’s arrest in connection with the case. Big River RCMP believe he may be injured as a result of the altercation and have asked the public for help in finding him.
He is described as 5’11 and 180 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and lettering and numbers tattooed on both hands.
If you see Keenatch, do not approach him. Instead, report all information to the Big River RCMP.
