UPDATED: RCMP have deemed the death of Sheena Marie Billette a homicide.

The RCMP have identified the woman found dead along the side of Highway 102 on Monday as 28-year-old Sheena Marie Billette.

Investigators will conduct an autopsy in the next few days, and are looking for any information about Billette’s whereabouts, activities and interactions over the last week of her life.

A passing motorist discovered Billette’s body at around 5:30 a.m. Monday morning roughly 8 km north of La Ronge.

The Regina Major Crimes Unit South, Forensic Identification Unit and La Ronge RCMP detachment continue to investigate.
