A 30-year-old woman from Pelican Narrows is facing several weapon and drug related charges after police performed a check on a residence.
On July 4, Pelican Narrows RCMP conducted evening patrols to check for compliance with the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation’s new emergency safety measures.
During the patrol, officers performed a check at a residence on Linklater Street and were granted permission to enter the residence.
Inside the residence, officers observed prohibited firearms, ammunition and a bag of white powder. Police arrested a female on scene without and requested a warrant to search the residence.
A search of the residence led police to locate and seize one sawed off shotgun, several imitation firearms, various types of ammunition, various bladed weapons including machetes, a tactical axe and knives, 664 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 30 cellphones, a large sum of cash and additional drug paraphernalia.
30-year-old Kerry McCallum of Pelican Narrows faces several weapon and drug related charges. She appeared in court via CCTV in Pelican Narrows on July 6.
