Three teenagers face multiple charges following an RCMP investigation into a firearm discharge in Île-à-la-Crosse.
RCMP officers began their investigation at around 2:30 p.m. on July 16 following reports that a gun was fired in a treed area near Amisk Crescent. Witnesses told police that three teenaged boys exited the area shortly after the incident.
Officers arrested three teenagers on Lajeunesse Avenue afterwards. They also seized two sawed-off firearms and bear spray.
The teens are all from Île-à-la-Crosse. They each face 10 charges, including two counts each of careless use of a firearm, and three counts each of firing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
One of the teens faces five additional charges, including one count of possessing a firearm when knowing it is unauthorized.
None of the teens can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They made their first court appearances on Monday in Meadow Lake.
