Prince Albert Sharks command the pool at Michelle Moore Championships

The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club made a huge splash at the Michelle Moore Swim Meet held in Regina from May 9-11, with 12 swimmers delivering outstanding performances.

The team showcased incredible skill, determination, and sportsmanship, leaving a lasting impression on the competition.

Standout performances

Leading the charge was Zoe C, who dominated the pool with a perfect sweep, claiming first place in all her events: the 50m and 100m Butterfly, 50m, 100m, and 800m Freestyle, 50m and 100m Backstroke.

Anastazja S also had an incredible meet, achieving nine AA times and securing podium finishes in multiple events: 2nd in the 100m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley, and 3rd in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, and 50m Butterfly.

Clara G impressed with her endurance and versatility, earning  1st in the 400m Individual Medley, 2nd in the 800m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, and 400m Freestyle, and 3rd in the 1500m Freestyle.

Myla M showed her strength in sprint and middle-distance events, taking 1st in the 200m Butterfly and 200m Freestyle, and 2nd in the 100m Freestyle.

Breakthrough swims and personal bests

JaxenS achieved an AA time in the 50m Butterfly (14-year-old boys) and placed 5th in the 100m Breaststroke. Bella K secured an A time in the 50m Freestyle, marking a major milestone. SophiaL made her first-ever B final in the 200m Freestyle—an exciting step forward in her swimming career. MaiaL came agonizingly close to an AA time, missing it by just 0.95 milliseconds, showing she’s on the cusp of another big achievement.

A bright future ahead

The Sharks’ performances in Regina highlight the team’s depth, talent, and hard work. With multiple AA times achieved and several swimmers reaching new personal bests, the club is poised for even greater success in future competitions.  Great job, Sharks! Can’t wait to see what you do next!
