Prince Albert Kinette Club host the Dueling Pianos

Feb. 7 would have just been a normal Saturday night but the Prince Albert Kinette Club made it a special night by hosting the World Famous Dueling Pianos tagged ‘Stepping out of the Ordinary’ at Plaza 88 where a part of the funds realised will go to the Telemiracle.
The night had live music by the Dueling Pianos treating all the attendees to different genres of music, together with the silent auction and 50/50.
“The Dueling pianos night was a very successful,” Kinette Club member Zoe Galbraith said. “We have not gotten our final numbers yet, but we anticipate it will be very good this year. We had great community engagement. It was quite nearly sold out and we are anticipating donations from other fundraisers.”
The Dueling Pianos held everyone spellbound all through the night with their live music. The event is an annual fundraiser to support Telemiracle.
Although the club is not targeting a specific fundraising total, Galbraith said they tried to maximize all their fundraising efforts this year with the 50th Anniversary of Telemiracle.
“We are waiting for confirmation from a couple of our donors then we will announce our final numbers,” Galbraith said. “But we will be doing an on air presentation during the Telemiracle …. so people from Prince Albert can tune in to see exactly how much we are donating. We will be going on air on Feb.28 at 9:24p.m.”
Events like this has its own set of challenges but Galbraith and the Kinette Club look forward to it.
”There were lots of challenges per say, but to us it was just a labour of love,” she said. “It took a lot of volunteer hours and community support to put on the Dueling Pianos.”
From the setting of the venue, venue decoration, organizing the musicians, arranging for donations of items from local business to be used in the Silent Auction, Galbraith said it was a worthwhile effort for a very rewarding cause.
“The Kinette Club would like to thank the Prince Albert Community for their support with our fundraisers and I would like to encourage everyone to tune in to Telemiracle this coming weekend,” she added.
There will be testimonial from the people who have benefited from Telemiracle. on the Saturday at 9 p.m. during the 50th Anniversary.
As Part of the Telemiracle 50th Anniversary, the Prince Albert Kinsmen Club will be hosting a Telemiracle Pancake Breakfast at Smitty’s  from 7 – 10 am on Friday.
